Global English

When we communicate with foreign people, the most of important problem is language. If all people in the world speak common language as native tongue, it would be helpful to have cross cultural communication obviously. Common language that all people of the world speak might have possibility to change the world excellently. However, is it possible that all people in the world speak same language?
Recently, so many people in the world speak English but they have individual style of English because languages depend on their culture, history and nationality. Every country has original characteristic and different environment. For example, in India, English has become official language because it was colony of British a few centuries ago. Although their English is different from people who speak English as native tongue because their native tongue is Hindu. English has been branched and become different language.
Today, there are so many kinds of English in the world. It means English has become link language gradually since it is useful for their growth of business, industry, economic and so on. In addition, most of the countries are familiar with English because so much English vocabulary has been introduced.
In conclusion, it is impossible to have common language in the world but English surely has been link language in globalization. Every country that people speak English as native speaker also has their own English language. Native speakers should recognize about English as native tongue and as second tongue. I expect that The People who speak English as second language will be increasing rapidly. Eventually, we are getting our opportunities that we can contact between people from different countries effectively and easily by using link language.

Ponyo

Do you remember how you felt when you were five years old? Ponyo, which is Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea in Japanese, is fantastic human animated movie, which remind me the delightful feeling that I have forgot for long time, by Studio Ghibli in Japan. This movie was written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, who is known as extraordinary animator in Japan. This movie was released in Japan in 2008 and was distributed to the U, S in 2009. It recorded 15billion yen as Gross revenue in Japan and won the Academy awards of Japan in 2008 according to Tokyo Graph in Japan.
Accordingto Yahoo news in Japan, it is remarkable for the casts in English version because Noah Cyrus, who is known as young star Miley Cyrus’ sister, is casted as Ponyo. Furthermore, Cate Blanchett, who is winner of the Oscar, is casted as Ponyo’s mother.
This movie is under the inspiration of the Little Mermaid, which was written by Hans Christian Andersen. The scene of the story is in Tomonoura, Japan. This movie is about the story that the growth of five year old boy Sousuke, while his hometown is inundated with the flood. He decides that he protects her from others and he tries to deliver on it. I love this movie because it makes me happy and pure after watching this movie. In addition, this movie described some current problems in Japan such as graying society. In my opinion, it allows me to receive the distinct message from this movie.
Originally, the most of the animated movie are for kids but this movie gives every generation deep emotion. Moreover, you can find new thing if you watch this movie more than once. I recommend everyone watch this movie more than once. It is worth watching many times. Hopefully, this movie will be nominated for the Academy Awards in the U.S in 2010 and win. If you want to feel warm, I recommend you this movie.

Compare two my favorite cities

What is the difference between Seattle and Tokyo? There are many differences between two cities which I love. It is easy to find them if you compare the two cities carefully.
First of all, it is the transportation because there are many kinds of public transport in Tokyo, such as subway, train, monorail and bus. You don’t need to have a car because public transportation is more convenient than car. Otherwise, a car is indispensable in Seattle because there are many buses which stop by every area in Seattle but it is not enough if you live conveniently.
Second, places of Seattle are bigger than Tokyo because there is so much space in Seattle. Schools, restaurants, parks and houses also have so much room. The most of Japanese houses don’t have two bathrooms like houses of Seattle, even though one and half bathrooms.
Final difference is weather that rain fall of Seattle is more abundant than Japan. It rains so much in Seattle that it is well known as “Rain city”. In addition, Seattle weather is unpredictable, even though the forecast sometimes doesn’t predict exact information because it is more difficult to predict the weather than Japanese.
On the other hands, there are some similarities between two cities. One of them is that a metropolitan is in harmony with nature in both cities. It is one of the reasons why I love both of them. Tokyo has many high buildings, good restaurants, luxury hotels, and nice cafes such as down town Seattle. Otherwise; Tokyo has wonderful parks which have beautiful trees and flowers like Seattle.
In conclusion, each place has individual characteristic such as the difference and the similarities of Seattle between Tokyo. We enjoy finding them in daily life. It allows us to have the opportunity that we realize individuality of my home town.

My favorite place at UW

A beautiful view is that makes you relax and comfortable, such as Drumheller Fountain. It is located in the central of the UW. The shape of it is a big circle and fountains are shooting high from three spots all the time. Some birds often visit and stay on the edge of it. In addition, there are a plenty of roses and trees which are covered with red, yellow and green leaves surround there. Most of the UW students pass around there for moving across the campus more than once a day. There are some benches which some students sit on in there. The view from there is so beautiful. The place is well known as one of symbols of the UW.

Poem

I am cheerful and healthy
I wonder where to get the best chocolate
I hear rain pattering
I see people laughing
I want sunny days
I am cheerful and healthy

I pretend to be an American
I feel the wind breathing ice
I touch my face when I am chuckling
I worry about my English skills
I cry when I get a bad score
I am cheerful and healthy

I understand American deserts are pretty good
I say FRAN’s Chocolates are my favorite.
I dream of peaking English fluently
I try to lead a healthy life
I hope my favorite deserts are low calories
I am cheerful and healthy

My first trip in the U,S

At the Sea-Tac airport in February 2008, the sunny was brightful in the morning. I was excited because I arrived in the place where was my first visiting in the main land in the U,S.
My friend picked me up to the hotel down town by car which affords a wonderful view of the lake Washington. By the time I arrived at the hotel, I checked in. The looks of the hotel was sophisticated and fashionable. Interior and furniture in the lobby at the hotel was modern and good atmosphere uniquely. When I was going to go into my room at hotel, I grasped because it also was stylish and huge such as a suite room. Otherwise it allows me a perfect view of Seattle like a beautiful picture. Space needle, a lot of lakes, beautiful nature…and so on. As soon as I changed my clothes in the room and went outside. I felt comfortable with wind. The weather in Seattle was better than Japanese for me because it didn’t cold and dry so much as my home town. And then, I walk around downtown. There were so many people in center of downtown. It was bustling with tourist and shoppers. I stopped by a café which had nice atmosphere. I ordered an Americano and a pumpkin cake. The coffee was smell good and tasty, the cake was sweet and beautiful. I relaxed and felt metro in the café. An old man who was sitting next to me asked me,
’ Where are you from?’
‘I’m from Tokyo’ I said. And then he said with beautiful smile.
“Welcome to Seattle! Have a wonderful trip! Have a fun! "
I was going to love Seattle already.
And now, I’ve been living Seattle for 3months and I’m enjoying every day here in the Seattle!!
